At the beginning of April 2010 State Digital Security changed its name to Christie Intruder Alarms Ltd. We have been owned by Christie Intruder Alarms for more than 5 years now so we see this as a natural progression.

Who are Christie Intruder Alarms?

Christie Intruder Alarms was established in the late 1960s by Barrie and Janet Christie. Under their ownership and management, Christie Intruder Alarms has become the most recognized and well respected security brand. Christie Intruder Alarms also owns Capital Security Systems and Gardner Security as well as State Digital Security.

Why the change?

On retiring Barrie and Janet Christie wanted to secure the future for customers and staff alike, and have done this by merging all the subsidiaries under the Christie Intruder Alarms brand.

Who owns Christie Intruder Alarms now?

The company is still owned by the Christie family, and members of the family continue to work for Christie Intruder Alarms. The staff have been empowered by a new share bonus scheme which guarantees that Christie Intruder Alarms will remain the strongest independent brand in the security industry.

What does the change mean for me?

The only change you should notice is the change in name on any correspondence you will receive from July 2010 onwards.

I'm an existing State Digital customer. Do I need to do anything?

No; the State Digital team will continue to look after you. We will be backed up by 40 years of Christie Intruder Alarms’ expertise and more than 300 staff and engineers.
